For the past few years airsoft guns have been fast gaining importance due to the advantages that come attached with them. For this reason, there are many manufacturers who are focusing solely on the production of airsoft guns. There are mainly three types of Airsoft guns available in market. These include the following:
• Spring airsoft guns.
• Electrical airsoft guns.
• Gas powered airsoft guns.
Of these three the most popular is Electric powered airsoft gun. There are number of options available in market when it comes to choosing the right type of Electric Airsoft Gun. Some of these include automatic electric gun, medium priced electric guns, low powered electric gun, hybrid guns, mini electrics, electric blow bucks and AEP.
Automatic Electric Guns or AEGs are capable of firing 200-300 rounds per minute and have muzzle velocities between 200-500 ft/sec. The popularity of these type of electric airsoft guns can be deducted from the fact that it is one of the most widely used airsoft guns. The main producer of this gun is the Japanese company Tokyo Marui.
Medium Priced electric guns are an extension of the AEGs and are available at a much lower price then the original AEGs. The main producer of this gun is the UTG with its leading models like MP5 and AK47.
Low powered electric guns are the cheaper version of AEGs available in market. However, their disadvantage is their low velocity despite being similar to original AEGs in design and construction.
Hybrid Gun is the latest model in the airsoft family. This has been introduced in the market only in 2006. They are also similar to our standard AEG however; they come with their own extension to the design. Another worth mentioning difference of this gun from the others is that the magazine has shell casings loaded into it which comes with a single plastic pellet.
Mini Electrics are the type of electric airsoft guns recently produced by the company UHC. These are identical to the LPEGs but the difference comes with the fact that they are not exact duplicates of real firearms, rather their miniature versions.
Electric blow bucks are cheap electric airsoft guns which are identical to real pistols. These run on AA batteries or AAA batteries.
AEP or automatic electric pistols were introduced in 2005 by Tokyo Marui. These were the pioneer in the field of hand guns that were powered by electricity.
