A Guide to Buying Cheap Airsoft Guns

Airsoft can be played and collected on just about any income, which is great news for those who might have wanted to get into firearm collection only to find the price prohibitive. Cheap airsoft guns are as plentiful (if not more so) as their more expensive counterparts, you just have to know where to look. And, since one man’s cheap is another’s out of this world expensive, we’ll take a look at the full range of airsoft pricings so you can find the price range you’re most comfortable with. This may depend not only on disposable income, but what you’re intentions are. Some of the more serious collectors want only the best in customized replicas, while those looking to shoot their friends in competitive simulations may not need to spend that much.

Let’s take the cheap airsoft guns, by any definition, first. Now, when saying “by any definition,” we don’t mean anything but the price itself. There are plenty of quality guns on the market for those who don’t have a lot to spend. Most of these guns are propelled using a spring mechanism, and can be found at several of the big retail outlets, like Wal-Mart. They might not have the biggest selection, but they will have very competitive prices. You can usually find one that meets your needs for under $20. You may even be able to go below $10, but it wouldn’t come highly recommended.

After the cheap airsoft guns are the electric models, which can drive up the price a bit. These usually run on rechargeable batteries, which can last a surprising length of time. Even the lower
end model electric guns can be had for around $30 dollars or so, so you’re still not breaking the bank. If you want to get a slightly nicer model, with more features and a more realistic attention to detail, you could spend up to $200, which may or may not be out of your price range. Electric guns are those most commonly seen in sport play and competition, so if that is your primary interest, this could be the way to go.

The furthest away from cheap airsoft guns are those powered by gas. These use CO2 cartridges to propel the ammunition and they are, by and large, the most expensive guns on the market. Still, they have retained their popularity for a number of reasons. Though they may not be any more powerful or accurate than their brethren, they are usually much more realistic, and even incorporate special features that make the handling of them more like a real firearm, such as a kick, or recoil action.
